Internships at the Nature Center

At the Nature Center we seek to sponsor internships, especially in cooperation with the local colleges - South Puget Sound Community College, St. Martin's College, and The Evergreen State College.

In the recent past, our interns have completed projects about general environmental education, development of the Nature Center's environmental summer camp program, and a botanical baseline survey of a high salt marsh on Nisqually Delta.

We are currently seeking an Environmental Education Intern. The position would have these duties and opportunities:

  • Duties: As part of Education Program Team, the intern will assist in developing education programs and materials, participate in outreach programs at the Nature Center, and assist in creating and maintaining displays for the facility.
  • Qualifications: Applicants should be working towards a degree in Education, Environmental Education, Biology, Chemistry, Ecology, or a related field. Applicants should also have a demonstrated interest in environmental education and/or ecology.
  • Hours per week: Variable, 10 to 20 hours per week, to be decided at appointment.
Although this is not a paid internship, the position provides an excellent opportunity for environmental education program development and outreach experience. For additional information, please send your resume and letter of interest to Daniel Hull at:
